The moment draws near

Written by Angeline Fu

How is it that I can feel excited and yet anxious and worried at the same time?
... Excited because R and co are doing the summit push on Tuesday - its been a long journey with sacrifices physically, mentally, emotionally, financially for them to get to this stage and the peak is just before them! Almost there!

... Worried and anxious because there are just so many unknowns, the effects of altitude on their bodies, the snow, the draining physical demands being that high up and exerting themselves climbing to the top.

Everyone are so proud of them, R & co have gone higher than any one of them have gone before. We on the sea level are tether hooks, sending their prayers and thoughts to them, cheering them on wishing them good weather, good health, successful summit and safe descent...

Baby steps, Rob, Greg and Marco, baby steps, one step at a time... and you'll be there... May the Turquoise Goddess smile on you and welcome your ascent!

And remember to keep the baby steps when you come back to London, R... then at least I can wear my stilettos and not have to trot behind you - finally we could be even walking together even paced!

They are back in Base Camp - safe and all happy, just in the nick of time too as it is snowing very heavily right now.

06:34 UK time - the phone remains silent which has to be a good sign, they should be almost there!
Jo and Ann, hope you managed to get some rest!
